Activities

The Ministry of Transport performs activities concerning: the preparation, monitoring and implementation of transport policy and relevant national programmes; international co-operation and the harmonisation of inter-state interests in the field of transport; railways, maritime and air transport; transport on inland waterways; the safety of vessels intended for navigation in continental waters; cargo transfer services; roads and road traffic (except the control and regulation of vehicles in road traffic) and cable-cars.

The Ministry is organised into Directorates (Transport Directorate, International Relations Directorate, Roads Directorate, Railways Directorate, Maritime Directorate and Civil Aviation Directorate), which perform duties that fall within the competencies of the Ministry.
