The key purpose is to maintain a safe environment for air traffic in the dynamic industry of civil aviation and ever changing conditions of European air transport.
We carry out a range of regulatory functions and services relating to safety and technical aspects of civil aviation. The regulatory services include among other things aircraft airworthiness certification and registration; the licensing of personnel and organisations involved in the maintenance of aircraft as well as the licensing of pilots, aerodromes and air navigation services provider. Also included is the approval and surveillance of air carrier operating standards and general aviation.
Our tasks are performed in accordance with the aviation standards and recommended practices as well as trends and directives of the international transport policy.
