The Ministry of Transport performs tasks in the field of railway transport, air transport, maritime and inland waterway transport and road transport (with the exception of road transport safety control), as well as tasks in the field of transport infrastructure and cableway installations.
The Ministry is structured into offices that perform duties falling within the competencies of the Ministry:
Bodies under the responsibility of the Ministry perform operational tasks, whereas Inspectorates carry out control tasks.

The Mission of the Ministry
The mission of the Ministry of Transport is to provide conditions for high-speed, reliable and economically efficient transport of passengers and goods from the source to the destination of traffic flows while maintaining the utmost degree of safety.
In order to realize its mission, the Ministry of Transport has to provide co-ordinated, reliable and cost-effective functioning of the overall transport system. |
